Watch: Video Game Movie Supercut Showcases Some of The Genre's Best and Worst Films

Video games are notoriously tough to adapt into successful films. They continually raise the question: how can you take an experience where you go from an omniscient player to a passive viewer and make that enjoyable? I don't think anyone has come up with a satisfactory answer yet, but perhaps upcoming video game films like Assassin's Creed or Splinter Cell will be able to crack the code.

In the meantime, check out this supercut from Cineplex titled "Ready Player One" that looks back on the video game (and video game-inspired) films that have already been made so we can see where history went wrong. Without the context of their full stories, some of these movies admittedly look pretty cool, but you can make almost anything look cool with the right score and some strong editing.
