Watch Yugi Summon Dark Magician and Slifer the Sky Dragon in JUMP FORCE

When Jump Force was announced, I thought it was a cool idea. Have a fighting game that featured a bunch of great characters from Shonen manga. What is there to not love? Then, they announced Yami Yugi as a playable character and I raised an eyebrow. This was answered with an explanation that he would basically use his cards to do the fighting.

Now, I can see actual gameplay footage and it kinda works. I think it would’ve been cooler to have him summon the monsters through the stone tablets instead of the cards, but I guess the cards are more iconic. That being said, one thing I don’t like about what I’m seeing in Jump Force gameplay videos is how little the big attacks like Slifer the Sky Dragon actually do.

Maybe I’ve missed a detail to explain why an Egyptian God card does so little damage, but for now it just makes me a little confused.

What are your thoughts on this gameplay? Will you be using the heart of the cards to win your matches?
