“Masks save lives. Masks make men cruel.”
We have a really cool featurette for you to check out for the upcoming HBO series Watchmen. The series creator, Damon Lindelof, says this new show will pay homage to the comic book while giving new fans a story that they will be able to follow just by watching the series.
The clip below features some action-packed new footage and shows the cast and crew talking about the period of time the characters are in, which is based in an alternate universe where the police where masks to keep themselves and their families safe. But the bad guys are often masked as well, so it blurs the lines between good and bad, and tensions are running high.
Check out the video below, and let us know if you’re pumped for this awesome looking series. Watchmen premieres on HBO on October 20th.
Watchmen is inspired by the graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, and this series is a continuation of that story set years after the events in the original story.
The series is set in an alternate history where masked vigilantes are treated as outlaws. It embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name while attempting to break new ground of its own.
The cast includes Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Hong Chau, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, James Wolk, and Robert Redford as President of the United States.
