WB Looking to "Mend Fences" with BATGIRL Star Leslie Grace and Have Her Play the Hero in a Future DC Film
When it was first announced that Warner Bros. scrapped DC’s Batgirl movie with no plans to release it, an official statement was released saying, “Leslie Grace is an incredibly talented actor and this decision is not a reflection of her performance.” The studio also indicated that they would like to work with her and directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah again.
Well, a new report has surfaced from Variety indicating that they want to see Grace back in the role of Batgirl at some point. The report says Warner Bros. Pictures Group chiefs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy are looking to “mend fences with Batgirl star Leslie Grace, are entertaining the possibility of having her continue to play Batgirl in a future DC film.”
I assumed that WB still had plans for Batgirl after the movie was canceled, and it looks like that will be the case. But, they’re obviously going to start from scratch.
Grace does look great in the role of Batgirl, but I wish we would have actually been able to see footage of her in action in the movie. I guess we’ll just have to wait a little longer until WB figures out what they are doing with the DC film brand.
