WB Offered To Give Henry Cavill a CGI Moustache in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 6 But Paramount Said No

Warner Bros. apparently really tried to work out a deal with Paramount Pictures to allow Henry Cavill to shave his mustache off for Justice League. Unfortunately, Paramount said no, and that's after WB sent them some samples of what they could do with adding a stash to Cavill's face for Mission: Impossible 6

A VFX artist who worked on Justice League recently took part in an AMA on Reddit, and when asked what his reaction was when he found out he had to remove the mustache via CGI, he said:

"A mix - to some people it's a cool little project to get stuck in to and another problem to solve, which is what a lot of VFX is about. Challenging. To me, as a fan, I was annoyed haha Paramount should've shaved him and stuck a fake one on for MI6. Ridiculously petty of them. We did tests on already shot footage of Superman to add a beard as well to show the MI6 team at Paramount it was loads easier, and Warner Bros offered to pay for all the beard adding shots in MI6. They said no."

It kinda sucks that Paramount wouldn't work with them on this issue because it would have been a hell of a lot easier for them to add hair than remove it.

For me, the CGI upper lip of Superman was one of my biggest issues with the film because it kept pulling me out. It's like a stain on a movie that you'll never be able to get out. Regardless of that, I still enjoyed it.

What do you think about Paramount Pictures not willing to work with WB on letting Cavill shave his stash?
