WB Unlikely to Move Forward With DC's SUPERGIRL Movie
Warner Bros. Discovery is plowing through several of their films, and with the Batgirl movie being scrapped, it looks like some of the other DC projects are in danger of being axed.
According to a recent report from Rolling Stone, the previously announced Supergirl film is also unlikely to move forward at the studio. The film has been in development, and Sasha Calle, who is also set to appear as Supergirl in the upcoming movie The Flash, was set to star. Her appearance in The Flash was meant to introduce the character before her solo film.
One source said that test audiences thought the Batgirl movie “was like a bad TV show” and another source said the Supergirl movie could be the next film to be cancelled. Hey, at this point, anything can happen! The new leadership at WB are pulling plugs all over the place!
There’s no doubt that WB’s new CEO David Zaslav is making a lot of people nervous with his decisions. As of right now, The Flash is still on track for a 2023 release date despite all the Ezra Miller issues. Some of the other films that are safe include Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and even Blue Beetle. Of course, anything could change.
