WB's New Film Adaptation of Stephen King's SALEM'S LOT Gets a Release Date

Warner Bros. has announced that its upcoming feature film adaptation of Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot will be released on September 9, 2022.

Lewis Pullman (Bad Times at the El Royale, Top Gun: Maverick) stars in the film, and he will take on the role of author Ben Mears, “a man who returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a vampire, leading him to band together with a ragtag group that will fight the evil presence.”

Gary Dauberman, who previously produced New Line’s two-part adaptation of King’s It, wrote the script Salam’s Lot and also directed the film, the production of which took place in Boston. James Wan is also a producer on the film.

The first adaptation of the story was a TV movie directed by Tobe Hooper in 1979. Years later in 2004, there was a miniseries. I’m a fan of Hooper’s version of the film because it scarred the hell out of me when I was younger. But I’m looking forward to seeing how the latest adaptation turns out.

The cast also includes Makenzie Leigh, Alfre Woodard, Bill Camp, John Benjamin Hickey, Nicholas Crovetti, Jordan Preston Carter, William Sadler, Spencer Treat Clark, Cade Woodward, Debra Christofferson, and Pilou Asbaek.
