WB's Upcoming Harry Potter RPG HOGWARTS LEGACY Delayed To 2022

It’s been announced that Warner Bros. upcoming Harry Potter RPG, Hogwarts Legacy, has been delayed to 2022.

The announcement of the delay was shared on the official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account and it comes with a statement from the official Portkey Games Label, which was founded under Warner Brothers to help breathe life into the Harry Potter games franchise under the publisher.

Hogwarts Legacy will allow players to experience a new story set in the 1800s. The player’s character is “a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. Make allies, battle Dark wizards and decide the fate of the wizarding world.”

The official synopsis reads:

“Experience Hogwarts in the 1800s. Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. You have received a late acceptance to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and soon discover that you are no ordinary student: you possess an unusual ability to perceive and master Ancient Magic. Only you can decide if you will protect this secret for the good of all, or yield to the temptation of more sinister magic.”

In the RPG game, players will have the ability to travel through familiar and new locations and can also customize their characters. The game will be filled with wizarding activities such as casting spells and crafting potions. There’s also a talent system that ties into the RPG mechanics and will allow players to customize and upgrade their wizard characters.

The game comes from Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. and has been confirmed for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC platforms.
