We May Not See STRANGER THINGS Season 3 Until 2019

It took me a while to watch the first season of Stranger Things, but once I did, I was hooked. Then the second season came out this past October and I swallowed it whole! Unfortunately, due to the nature of Netflix releasing all of the episodes at once, fans are ravenous for more after they finish binging the new season in a weekend. This makes it really annoying that we may not see the third season until 2019. According to Variety, Stranger Things star David Harbour who plays Sherriff Jim Hopper explained that the Duffer brothers “need time to work out the scripts.” He goes on to say:

I mean, one of the things that’s annoying for fans is that it takes us a long time to do them. Like, you probably won’t get [Season 3] until sometime in 2019. But also part of the thing is, like any good thing, they need time. And those guys work so hard. I mean, they just sit in their apartment and write for 12, 14 hours a day.

This has me a little sad because I love this show and cannot wait for the next season. However, I want this next season to be well thought out and not rushed, so I understand the need to be patient. It’s times like these that make me wonder if it wouldn’t be better for Netflix to release one episode a week when they have a new season of one of their shows. On the one hand, with the current system, you can quickly binge the entire season in a weekend. On the other hand, it takes away the pass time of having to wait a week, giving you and your friends ample time to come up with crazy theories as to what is going to happen. It also decreases the risk of spoilers since people would be limited by how far they can go. Do you prefer the binge experience or should we go to a weekly episode for Netflix? Can you wait until 2019 for the third season of Stranger Things?
