We Saw GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE and Here's Our Reaction Along with the Reactions of Others!

Last night Sony Pictures surprised CinemaCon attendees with a screening of Ghostbusters: Afterlife! The movie was introduced by director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman. I’m not allowed to post a review of the film yet, but the press was given permission to share their reactions of the film online.

I couldn’t be happier with how the movie turned out! It was so cool to be able to see this movie, but my wife is seriously pissed off at me that I saw it without her. This is one movie that she really wanted to see with me on the first viewing. But, I didn’t know they were going to show it at CinemaCon! I’m sorry!

I loved the movie though, and I’ve collected a bunch of reactions from Twitter so you can read the hype!

In the film, Egon Spangler’s family moves to a small town where they learn about their grandfather’s legacy and that he used to catch ghosts for a living. I love the story of a couple of kids slowly discovering something incredible about their grandpa and his legacy.

The synopsis for the next chapter in the Ghostbusters universe reads, “A single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.”

The film was directed by Jason Reitman from a script he wrote with Gil Kenan. The movie stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, and Paul Rudd. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver are also said to be returning.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife will be released in theaters starting November 11th, 2021.

I saw GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE. Sorry, no review. But what I can say is that it’s the best of the series, full stop. Stupendously well written, not leaning too hard on nostalgia, and telling a story better than even the original could muster. A winner in every sense. #CinemaCon
