We Took a Flashlight Tour of The Winchester Mystery House and This is a Video of Our Spooky Adventure!

This past weekend Lionsgate invited us out to the legendary Winchester Mystery House in San Jose CA where we were treated to a flashlight tour of the house! This was all done as a way to promote the released of the horror film Winchester on Digital HD, DVD, and Blu-ray.

I've been fascinated with the Winchester Mystery House ever since I first learned about it as a kid, so of course, I'm going to jump at the opportunity to take a flashlight tour of this wonderfully creepy house! So, I jumped in my Jeep and took a road trip up to San Jose to hunt some ghosts!

I met up with my friend Jake, who lives up in the area, and he documented our fun and spoooooky adventure and edited together a great little video for your viewing enjoyment! You can watch the video below and if you want, you can subscribe to Jake's YouTube Channel

We had an absolute blast exploring the Winchester Mystery House and there were even some paranormal investigators hunting ghosts while we were there, which was really cool. It's an amazing structure that has a beautiful eeriness to it. Unfortunately, we didn't see any ghosts while we were looking around. We just enjoyed the opportunity and experience to be a part of this press event. If you've never been, you should take the tour one day!

Thanks Lionsgate for the amazing tour! Book your own Winchester Adventure: https://goo.gl/DG78j4 Subscribe, maybe?: http://www.youtube.com/pickedlastjake

Sarah Winchester claimed to have been instructed to keep building and adding onto the house by the spirits of those people who were killed by the Winchester rifle. She continued to build until she died. The ghosts also supposedly provided the designs on how the house should be built which makes it so strange and wonderfully creepy.

This is what the story for the Winchester film is based on, and I enjoyed how the movie turned out! It told an interesting and solid story and I enjoyed the old-school style of filmmaking used to tell that story. It had a classic ghost story kind of feel too it.

The movie has a great cast that includes Helen Mirren, who was perfectly cast in the lead role of Sarah Winchester, Jason Clarke, Sarah Snook and Angus Sampson. Here's the synopsis:

Inspired by true events. On an isolated stretch of land 50 miles outside of San Francisco sits the most haunted house in the world. Built by Sarah Winchester, (Academy Award winner Helen Mirren) heiress to the Winchester fortune, it is a house that knows no end. Constructed in an incessant twenty-four hour a day, seven day a week mania for decades, it stands seven stories tall and contains hundreds of rooms. To the outsider it looks like a monstrous monument to a disturbed woman’s madness. But Sarah is not building for herself, for her niece (Sarah Snook) or for the brilliant Doctor Eric Price (Jason Clarke) whom she has summoned to the house. She is building a prison, an asylum for hundreds of vengeful ghosts, and the most terrifying among them have a score to settle with the Winchesters…

The film was written and directed by Michael and Peter Spierig (Predestination, Daybreakers) and it will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on May 1, 2018, and it is currently available to watch on Digital HD from Amazon Video and iTunes.

I also included a. little documentary that offers some additional information on the house!

This is the 1963 documentary (narrated by Lillian Gish) of the Winchester Mystery House. It's fascinating to see it as it was in 1963, and Lillian's narration is great. Hope you enjoy! Another YouTube user was kind enough to upload a version of this a couple years ago, and I found it fascinating.
