WEATHERING WITH YOU Gets an Official Release Date in the US and Preview Nights from Fathom Events

Anime film fans are pretty excited for the upcoming film from GKIDS, Weathering With You. The film is directed by Makoto Shinkai and produced by Geki Kawamura who worked on the hit film Your Name. Well, we finally have the release date for the film as well as dates for some Special Fan Preview screenings from GKIDS and Fathom Events. That’s right, some fans will get to experience Weathering With You a day or two early.

“The summer of his high school freshman year, Hodaka runs away from his remote island home to Tokyo, and quickly finds himself pushed to his financial and personal limits. The weather is unusually gloomy and rainy every day, as if to suggest his future. He lives his days in isolation, but finally finds work as a writer for a mysterious occult magazine. Then one day, Hodaka meets Hina on a busy street corner. This bright and strong-willed girl possesses a strange and wonderful ability: the power to stop the rain and clear the sky…”

The preview nights are on January 15-16 with the full theatrical release happening on January 17. Tickets will be available for purchase through Fathom Events or the official site for Weathering With You on November 15.
