WEBTOONS That I Want to See Become an Anime

Crunchyroll has started turning WEBTOON comics like Tower of God and The God of High School into anime series. I then saw the popular cosplayer Reagan Kathryn share a video of her top 6 WEBTOON comics that she wants to see turned into anime (located below). As I’ve been reading a fair number of WEBTOON comics over the last year+, I thought I would chime in and submit some of my top picks for which ones I want to see turned into anime series.

The first one I want to submit is one that Kathryn also submitted, Let’s Play. This is more of a romantic-comedy series, but is a lot of fun to read. Sam works for her father’s company during the day and then at night can be seen gaming or creating her own game. Her new neighbor is the famous game streamer Marshall Law and that’s when things get crazy. It’s a real fun read and I cannot wait for every Tuesday when it’s updated.

Next, is Zero Game. This comic screams anime all over it, especially with the current trend of making anime take place in video game worlds. It fits the bill and the story and characters are fantastic. It follows Hanna Yoo who has a pretty crappy life. She then gets an invite to play a game in order to get her life reset. Once in the game, she finds out that she has to fight a bunch of other “players” in order to win, and it gets to be a lot of fun.

Enjoy the Show! is another rom-com series that I’d like to pitch. In this one, Violet gets a job at a movie theater and after someone tries mugging her, we get to see more of her normal life type deal. However, she’s also got a crush on the security guard who saved her the other night.

A fourth one that I think would be perfect for younger audiences is Nothing Special. This one is a fantasy comic that mixes the modern world with a more high fantasy world which is a different dimension. There are some really fun things in this comic like one of the main characters is a half-elf. When I read this comic, it feels a lot like Star vs the Forces of Evil.

While I think other ones like Mage & Demon Queen, Muted, Melancholy, and Eclipse, my final push is going to be for Fist Wielder. This one is still relatively young, but it’s got a lot going for it. A young woman from our world somehow ends up in a more fantasy-like world looking for her mother. It’s not a super unique premise, but the comic is very well done and would be fantastic as an anime. What are your top picks for WEBTOON comics that should be anime series?
