WEDNESDAY Actor Fred Armisen Shares Update On Uncle Fester Spinoff Series - "It's Amazing"
Actor Fred Armisen is best known for his time on Saturday Night Live, but we’ve seen him most recently in the hit Netflix series, Wednesday. He quirkily plays the Addams Family member Uncle Fester, who we last saw in the Season 2 finale riding away on his motorcycle with Wednesday in the side car and Thing hanging on back, as they headed north to hopefully find Wednesday’s roommate and friend, Enid, who has turned into an Alpha werewolf.
A spinoff based on Uncle Fester is still in the works after the project was announced back in December 2023. Armisen gave an update about the series during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he said, “Yeah, we’re working on it. It’s fantastic… It’s amazing.”
The 15x Emmy nominee previously told Deadline he feels “no pressure” to keep the comedic moments coming on Wednesday, amid the show’s more horror elements, but stopped short of revealing anything about his spin-off., teasing, “It’s so fun to do. It feels very organic. That’s all I can really say about it as far as the anticipation of it all. I love getting to do it and to embody this character who’s existed for a long time. That’s the fun of it.”
