WEDNESDAY Has Been Renewed for Season 2 by Netflix! Watch the Announcement Video
The fantastic news has just dropped that Tim Burton and Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday has been officially renewed for Season 2 by Netflix! It’s not really surprising as the first season was such a huge hit with viewers! I loved the show. It was one of my favorites of 2022, and I’m so happy and excited that we’ll get to watch the story continue!
The series tells the twisted coming of age comedy story about “a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.”
The show was created by Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar, who did such a great job developing the show with Burton! Hopefully, Burton comes back to direct Season 2!
Ortega is joined in the series by Luis Guzmán, who is playing Gomez Addams, and Catherine Zeta-Jones in the role of Morticia Addams, as well as Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Georgie Farmer, Naomi Ogawa and Moosa Mostafa.
When previously teasing Season 2, Millar said that Wednesday’s family, which also includes Morticia and Gomez, could be featured more. He said: “We felt like we just touched the surface with those characters and the actors are so amazing in those roles. Catherine is, I think, an iconic Morticia. The relationship between Wednesday and Morticia is also essential to the show, and the idea that Wednesday is trying to forge her own path outside the family is important.”
What do you hope to see in Season 2 of Wednesday?
