WEDNESDAY Season 2 Teaser Trailer and Poster - "The Wait Has Been Torture"
Netflix is finally letting us back into Nevermore Academy, though Wednesday Addams probably would’ve preferred we suffer a little longer.
The streamer just released the teaser trailer and poster for Wednesday Season 2 and its appropriately moody and ominous. Just the way Wednesday would likes it, and it looks like it;s going to be a lot of fun! I enjyed the hell out of Season 1 and I’m ready for more!
Fans have been dying to know what comes next since the series became a breakout hit, and Jenna Ortega is back to lead the charge as the deadpan, macabre icon herself.
The synopsis reads: “Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega), returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await. This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.
In various interviews, Ortega has hinted that Season 2 will lean harder into the horror and mystery elements: “bolder, darker, and more horror-heavy” than the first season. If you liked Season 1’s twisted charm, it it looks like you’ll enjoy what Season 2 has to offer.
Also returning to the creepy and kooky fold are Luis Guzmán as Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams. Lady Gaga has also joined the cast, you’ll get a look at how she fits into Wednesday’s strange and stylish world.
As a refresher, Wednesday is described as “a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy.”
The series follows “Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships.”
Behind the scenes, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Smallville) return as the brains behind the show, with Tim Burton executive producing.
No official release date has been set yet, but Season 2 is expected to hit Netflix later this year.
