WEEDS Returning to TV in Sequel Series at Starz

The wildly popular dark comedy series Weeds is returning to TV with a sequel series at Starz. Variety reports that star of the series Mary-Louise Parker will be back to star and executive produce, with original writer and executive producer Victoria Morrow on board as well. The report also provides the following description:

The new show picks up with the Botwin family 10 years after the events of the original series in an era of legalization.

The reboot is being called “Weeds 4.20” by the cabler. The original series followed Parker’s character, a single mother who turned to dealing marijuana to make ends meet and supply her family with the lifestyle they are used to. Parker won the Golden Globe for her performance along many more nominations, and the series won Emmys for cinematography and sound.

I started the series a long time ago, but never caught up. I have friends who loved the series though, and I guess with its return, now is the perfect time to finish the original episodes. Are you a fan of the series? Are you excited to see it come back?
