Weird Trailer For Harmony Korine's BABY INVASION, Which Was Filmmed as a First-Person Shooter

Harmony Korine has never been one of those filmmaker to color inside the lines. From Gummo to Spring Breakers, his work thrives in the bizarre, the abrasive, and the hypnotic. His latest venture with EDGLRD pushes that aesthetic even further.

After the infrared-infused Aggro Dr1ft, Korine is back with Baby Invasion a film that makes Aggro Dr1ft look downright tame. Now, today we have our first look at the film and it looks weird.

The trailer drops us into what can only be described as a surreal home invasion nightmare, shot entirely as a first-person shooter. Using EDGLRD’s tech, the invaders’ faces have been swapped with eerily realistic baby avatars, making the violence even more bonkers. It feels like a chaotic fever dream.

Baby Invasion blurs the line between digital horror and reality. The official synopsis describes it as an “An ultra-realistic, multiplayer FPS game follows a group of mercenaries using baby faces as avatars through the use of AI.

“Tasked with entering mansions of the rich and powerful, players must explore every rabbit hole before time runs out. As players navigate this dark web-leaked game, the boundaries between the digital and the real world blur.”

Following its Venice premiere, Baby Invasion is gearing up for a unique NYC event this Friday.
