Well, It Looks Like MORBIUS is Definitely Connected To The Marvel Cinematic Universe?!

The first trailer for Sony Picture’s Marvel movie Morbius recently dropped and they made sure to let us know that the movie is connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I’ve heard the rumors, but I seriously didn’t believe them. So, I was actually pretty freakin’ shocked when the trailer references Spider-Man: Far From Home with an image of Spider-Man on the walls with the word “Murderer” spray-painted over it. It’s been pointed out, though, that the version of Spider-Man used on the wall is Sam Raimi’s version of the character. It’s the “Murderer” aspect of it that connects to the events of Far From Home. But, the biggest and most shocking moment was at the very end when Micheal Keaton’s Adrian Toomes a.k.a. Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming popped up!

In the final scene of the trailer, we hear Keaton say, “Michael Morbius. Got tired of doing the whole good guy thing, huh? What's up, Doc.” Then there’s the big reveal! There’s been no confirmation that Keaton is playing Vulture, but obviously that’s him. You don’t include that at the end of the trailer as a fake-out. They intentionally wanted us to know that this is all connected now. We just don’t know how big a role he’ll play.

Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures must have made one hell of a deal to make this happen and I’m curious to see what the long game future holds as they work together to expand the universe because if that’s not happening, I don’t know what is. The rules between the two studios have certainly changed.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously said:

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it. Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”

Some of those surprises have been revealed and fans are flipping out over it! On top of that, Morbius actually looks like it’s going to be a great movie! I’m super excited to see it!

Things are getting very interesting with these Marvel movies. What do you think is going on here with Sony’s Marvel films now officially tying to the MCU? How do you see this playing out?
