Wes Craven to Adapt Sci-Fi Horror Comic THE DISCIPLES as Series

Iconic horror movie director Wes Craven is teaming up with comic writer Steve Niles to adapt the sci-fi horror comic The Disciples into a TV series. You may not have heard of this comic yet, because it has not been released yet.

Niles is the writer who co-created the comic 30 Days of Night, and The Disciples is his latest creation. The story is set in space, and it follows a team of interstellar private eyes who are tracking down a girl who has run off to join a cult on Jupiter’s moon Ganymede. It has been described as “True Detective in space.”

As of right now, Craven is just an executive producer. He hasn’t done a lot of TV in his career, but in the early '90s he co-created an anthology show called Nightmare Cafe. He’s also involved with the Scream series currently being developed by MTV.

Universal is producing the series, and it sounds like something that has potential. The comic is set to be released by Black Mask Studios in May.
