Wes Craven's CURSED Is Coming to Blu-Ray for the First Time

It’s been a long time since I’ve watched Wes Craven’s 2004 werewolf horror film Cursed! In fact, I don’t think I’ve seen it since the first time I watched it in theaters! Well, the film is being released on Blu-ray for the first time thanks to Shout! Factory, so what better way to revisit the movie!

The movie stars Christina Ricci (Yellowjackets), Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland), Joshua Jackson (Dr. Death), Judy Greer (Halloween Kills), and Milo Ventimiglia (Kiss Of The Damned). The only person that I remember being in this movie was Ricci. Anyway, their characters find themselves caught up in an unimaginable horror!

In the story, “A werewolf loose in Los Angeles changes the lives of three young adults who, after being mauled by the beast, learn that the only way to break the curse put upon them is to kill the one who started it all!”

The film was written be Scream screenwriter Kevin Williamson, and it will howl its way into your home as a 2-disc Collector's Edition, featuring both the Theatrical and Unrated cuts of the film!

For those of you who don’t know, this movie went through development hell. At one point producers, Harvey and Bob Weinstein hijacked it and turned it into something neither Craven nor Williamson intended it to be. This movie could have been so much better than what we got.

The Weinsteins fired legendary special effects artist Rick Baker from the project and replaced all of the incredible work with CGI werewolves, which is the stupidest thing anyone could ever do! Yes, the Weinsteins weren’t as smart as they’d like to think they were. There’s even an original Craven cut of the film that features different actors in some of the roles!

The recent announcement does not include a list of what will be on the disc, but there will be significant special features. Pre-orders of the Blu-ray do include an exclusive 18" x 24" poster featuring brand new artwork from Colin Murdoch.

You can pre-order the film here.
