Wesley Snipes Discusses His BLADE Conversations with Marvel
There's been a lot of talk recently regarding Wesley Snipes reprising his role as Blade for Marvel. Just last month a rumor hit the internet that if Marvel does decide to move forward with the project, it will be set around Blade's daughter Fallon Grey.
During a recent interview with The Huffington Post, Snipes talked about his ongoing conversations with Marvel Studios, saying:
“There’s always a possibility, you know. It’s in Marvel’s hands. They’re controlling the pace and the flow with that. Conversations have been good. They see the value in it. We see the value in it.”
The actor went on to point out that he's still in shape and ready to take on the role when Marvel decides to pull the trigger on it:
“I’m still in shape enough and fit enough to handle the role. We’ll see how it goes. I don’t really know what’s going to happen to it yet.”
I'm pretty sure that he does know what's going to happen, I think he's just good at keeping his mouth shut about it. The actor then shared his thoughts on the possibility of Blade getting to interact with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe:
“That would be interesting. I mean, I know it’s in the comic book. It would be interesting to see where they would place him and where he really would fit in. He’s got to bite somebody. I don’t know who he’s going to bite.”
I'd love to see Blade join the ranks of the MCU! The thought of him interacting with Iron Man, Captain America, and the rest is kinda fun. Who know which of the superheroes will still be around by the time Blade gets made, though? If a Blade movie does happen, I imagine it won't happen until Phase 4. Of course, there have been other rumors that suggest Blade could show up in Phase 2 of Marvel's Netflix series plan. That would actually make more sense.
