Wesley Snipes Reveals Character Name, Voice, and Plot Details For COMING 2 AMERICA
Coming 2 America, the sequel to the 1988 film Coming to America, has begun filming, and while we know that Eddie Murphy, James Earl Jones, Arsenio Hall, and Garcelle Beauvais are returning to reprise their roles from the original film, we don’t have many details about the new characters in the cast. But now we have the info on one new character, thanks to an interview with Hey You Guys and Wesley Snipes at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Snipes was asked what he could reveal about his character, and here’s what he had to say, while slipping into the thick African accent of the character:
“I’ll be playing the bad guy. He’s not really a bad guy, he’s just a misunderstood guy. His name is General Eazie, and he is the General who is next door to him. They’re trying to work it out so that the two kingdoms can come together. It would be better for everyone if the kingdoms can come together. If they don’t come together i think there is going to be some sadness all around there. Some people are not going to be too happy.”
I’ll include the video below, as it’s fun to hear Snipes give the description in his own voice. Murphy is also interviewed at the beginning of the clip, but only divulges that the film started shooting two weeks ago and says that it’s going great and he feels they are working on something really special.
