Wesley Snipes Wrote Two Scripts for a Fourth BLADE Film
After Blade 3 was released in 2004, Wesley Snipes wanted to continue the franchise with a fourth film. In an effort to make that happen, he and his team wrote two scripts for Blade 4! Obviously, the film never got made, but those scripts have since been repurposed for other film projects.
Snipes recently shared in an interview with CB, "We actually wrote two scripts. We have two versions of a story that would've fit well into the Blade world. But since we didn't go that route and we didn't have the knock on the door again, we tweaked them and now we use them for something else. So I got two Blade killers."
I’d actually be very curious to see where they would have taken the story for Snipes’ Blade in a fourth movie, but it doesn’t look like we’ll ever know. The actor also revealed that he’s never been approached by Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios to discuss the character or return to the franchise, which is now being rebooted with Mahershala Ali in the lead role.
Snipes previously talked about Ali being cast in the role saying, "We spoke. The issue of him being cast wasn't between us, I'm cool with that. I don't walk around as Blade, so I'm not attached to the character like that. I feel no emotional loss, zero, and I'm happy that he's being recast and will more than likely do a great job."
I enjoyed the Blade films that Snipes made. The third one wasn’t the best, but when I watched Ryan Reynolds in that movie, I said to myself, “This guy needs to be Deadpool!”
