What Did You Think of Marvel's SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW Finale and the Series as a Whole?
The first season of Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law recently came to an end, and boy or boy, did it end with one crazy finale! I mean, not only did it break the fourth wall, it made the fourth wall all the walls! I was not expecting any of that!
This show took me on a crazy ride that was filled with ups and downs. There were aspects of the series that I didn’t really care for in the beginning regarding Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters and how she was handled. I just felt the character was treated with such disrespect, but as the series went on, the reasoning behind that all fell into place.
In the beginning, I was just upset that this strong female character, a character I loved from the comics, wasn’t really standing up for herself and allowed herself to be taken advantage of in so many ways. She was also pressured into doing things and never really pushed back. Then that all led to the season finale, where she wasn’t taking crap from anyone, and she was standing up for herself to the extreme! I appreciated that.
I mean, SPOILER ALERT, but she was so fed up by the end, that she literally broke out of the series and into Marvel Studios to talk to the writers of the series and Kevin, to change the ending to something that she wanted. That was just so crazy to me and if She-Hulk can do that, I can’t wait to see what Deadpool is going to do in Deadpool 3! Regardless, the ending also kind of threw out the main plot line of the series. I’m not sure if it worked in regards to giving the season a proper conclusion.
The finale also got us up to speed on what Hulk was up to as he returned from Sakaar… with his son Skaar. Could this lead to a World War Hulk story arc in the MCU? I hope so! World War Hulk played a big role leading to 2015's Secret Wars, so with Avengers: Secret Wars on the horizon… we’ll just have to wait and see!
Then there’s the relationship between Jennifer and Matt Murdock. It looks like they will have a heavy relationship moving forward. If that’s the case, will She-Hulk be involved with the Daredevil: Born Again series? Probably!
In the end, there were some fun moments and interesting ideas, but I thought the writing and storytelling were a bit of a mess. I know a lot of people enjoyed it, and that’s cool. But, for me, I didn’t think it was Marvel’s best project. I have mixed emotions about the who thing.
Ok, what did you all think of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law?
