WHAT HAPPENED TO DOROTHY BELL? Trailer Unearths a Terrifying Urban Legend

A chilling new trailer has dropped for Danny Villanueva Jr.’s found footage horror film What Happened to Dorothy Bell? and it teases a disturbing dive into a local urban legend that refuses to stay buried.

The story follows Ozzie Gray (Asya Meadows), a young woman battling her own mental health struggles. While confronting her trauma, she starts uncovering terrifying truths about a violent childhood incident when her grandmother, Dorothy Bell, attacked her under mysterious circumstances.

Ozzie’s search for answers brings her back to her hometown library, a place with ties to an eerie urban legend. Inside those walls, she’s forced to confront deeply buried secrets and a sinister supernatural force.

The cast includes horror icon Lisa Wilcox, best known for A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, along with Michael Hargrove (Candyman), Steven Alonte (The Cathedral), Sargon Odicho, Arlene Arnone, Yera Constable, and J. Anthony Ramos.

Dark Star Pictures president Michael Repsch praised Villanueva’s vision, saying, “What Happened to Dorothy Bell? is a bold and unsettling vision that pushes the boundaries of found footage horror. Danny Villanueva Jr. masterfully blends psychological depth with supernatural terror, crafting a story that resonates long after the credits roll.”

The film premiered at Fantastic Fest last year and was produced under Villanueva’s independent label How Bizarre Pictures. Villanueva not only wrote and directed but also served as Editor and Producer.

If you’re a fan of found footage horror that digs into folklore, urban legends, and psychological terror, you’ll want to mark your calendar. What Happened to Dorothy Bell? arrives in theaters October 3 and lands on Digital October 21.
