WHAT IF...? Season 3 Episode Reportedly To Include an Episode About The Eternals Allowing The Destruction of Earth
It looks like The Eternals might be showing up in an episode of the third season of Marvel’s animated series What If…? and if true, it will be a wild episode!
The news comes from entertainment scooper @CanWeGetToast, who says that What If...? season 3 will include an episode that puts the focus on The Eternals characters. The storyline is said to be, "What If... The Eternals Never Stopped The Emergence?"
In the Marvel universe, an Emergence is a cosmic event signifying the birth of a Celestial, while simultaneously destroying the planet it was created on. In the film, we learned that there was a planned Emergence on Earth where the Celestial Tiamut the Communicator was to be born, although its birth and Earth's subsequent destruction was prevented by the Eternals.
If The Eternals never stopped the Emergence, the Earth and MCU would be completely destroyed. This would be a very interesting story to play with. The consequences and aftermath of this event would be insane! I’d actually love to see this explored, so I hope this news ends up being true.
