What Makes a STAR WARS Fan a Real Star Wars Fan? Star Wars Fans are Debating!
Star Wars is easily one of the most debated and discussed film franchises ever. The fans of this franchise are a super passionate bunch, but one “fan” decided to post a ridiculous list of items that he thinks makes a person an “actual” Star Wars fan.
He starts out by saying that just watching the Star Wars movies doesn’t make you a fan. The guy obviously doesn’t understand what a real fan is because a real fan doesn’t act as a gatekeeper for other fans and make a list of rules on what makes a fan a fan.
You can read his post below that has got a lot of other fans riled up.
I guess this means that when it was just the Star Wars movies, before the books, animated series, and everything else, there were no actual Star Wars fans? What a crock of shit.
The perfect response to this tweet came from Phil "Satyros" Brucato, who has co-written some Star Wars books in his career, saying:
Well, I've not only read books in the EU, I co-wrote some of them.

And I think your definition of "a Star Wars fan" is bullshit.
The definition of "a Star Wars fan" is: Someone who loves Star Wars.

You don't get to decide what that love looks like for someone else.
He’s right! To be a true fan of Star Wars, you just have to have a love of the franchise! That’s it! It’s pretty damn simple. But, it is amusing to scroll through and read the comments on this guy’s post. The fans are furiously debating him and at the same time making jokes. Then, of course, some fans do agree with him for some reason.
Regardless, you can be a true fan of anything if you have a love for it. There really isn’t a checklist of things that you need to do to become a fan or be passionate about something.
