Where The Hell is Hawkeye in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR!? The Directors Have an Explanation
Like all of you, I've been wondering where Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) is in Avengers: Infinity War. He's nowhere to be found in the trailers or posters for the film. Even the poster that featured every hero in the film didn't include him! So what's going on?
Thanks to the Russo bros. we have an explanation. While talking to /Film about the character, they revealed the following:
"Coming out of Civil War, he’s in the same position that Cap and Falcon are at the end of that movie. And Ant-Man. Coming into this movie, you know… Characters on Cap’s side coming out of the Civil War, some made certain decisions and others made other decisions that led to different paths in them dealing with oversight in this movie in a different way. So Hawkeye’s on his own journey in this movie."
Will his own Journey be shown in the film, though? We know that Ant-Man and The Wasp are on their own journey during this movie, but they won't be in Infinity War. We won't see Ant-Man again until Ant-Man and The Wasp and then that will lead into Avengers 4.
Will we not see Hawkeye until Avengers 4? When we learned that Hawkeye had a family, that came with more of an understanding of the character and that he has something to lose. Anthony Russo went on to say:
"He has a unique reaction to the civil war situation that puts him in a special spot in this film."
If Hawkeye does show up in the film, he's obviously not teaming up with anyone and I imagine he won't have much screentime. Whatever journey he's on, it's sure to lead him to shed his Hawkeye persona and become Ronin. We've seen set photos from Avengers 4 that seem to prove that theory to be correct.
Hawkeye may not be a fan favorite character, but I'm curious to see how his story arc plays out, especially if he takes on the mantle of Ronin. This character is about to become even more of a badass.
Do you think we'll see Hawkeye in Avengers: Infinity War, or do you think he won't show up until Avengers 4?
