WHIPLASH - Watch Insane Clip from the Sundance Hit
Director Damien Chazelle’s Whiplash made quite the impression as the opening feature at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The GeekTryant crew was absolutely floored by the perfectly executed drama, and the rest of the festival-goers and critics agreed. The movie would go onto achieve the rare feat of earning both the top jury prize and the audience award at the festival. The film, which follows a first-year student at a music conservatory striving to make it as a top jazz drummer, currently holds a 94% critics rating and 98% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Bottom line: you need to go see this.

Official Synopsis:
Andrew, a promising 19-year-old drummer at a cutthroat Manhattan music conservatory, has little interest in being just a musician. Haunted by his father’s failed writing career and plagued with the fear that mediocrity just might be genetic, Andrew dreams of greatness. Determined not to follow in his father’s footsteps, he practices daily until his hands literally bleed.
