WHITE MEN CAN'T JUMP Remake Casts Lance Reddick, Teyana Taylor, and Laura Harrier

20th Century Fox’s remake of White Men Can’t Jump adds three new cast members with Lance Reddick (John Wick), Teyana Taylor (Coming 2 America) and Laura Harrier (Hollywood). They are set to star alongside the previously cast Jack Harlow and Sinqua Walls.

The new film will offer a different take on director Ron Shelton’s 1992 sports comedy, which follows two street basketball hustlers who at first try to hustle each other, then team up for a bigger score with a basketball tournament.

Harlow is taking on the role originated by Harrelson, with Walls taking on the role Snipes played. Reddick is playing Benji Allen, “the father of Walls’ character Kamal. Benji is living with MS and has been Kamal’s coach and support system since a very young age.” There are no details on who Taylor and Harrier are playing in the movie.

White Men Can’t Jump recently celebrated its 30th anniversary at the 94th Academy Awards, with Woody Harrelson, Wesley Snipes, and Rosie Perez in attendance.

Veteran music video director Calmatic, who helmed the upcoming House Party remake for New Line, is directing the new film from a script written by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and Doug Hall.
