Wicked Awesome Full Trailer BLADES OF THE GUARDIANS Unleashes Epic Martial Arts Mayhem

If you’re a martial arts movie fan, you’re going to want watch this new trailer for Blades of the Guardians because it looks pretty damn awesome! The film marks the latest directorial effort from legendary fight choreographer and filmmaker Yuen Woo-ping, and it’s finally hitting select US theaters today thanks to Well Go USA.

Yuen Woo-ping is the mastermind behind classics like Drunken Master and Iron Monkey, and the action architect who helped shape the fight choreography in The Matrix and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

His last directing gig was Master Z: Ip Man Legacy back in 2018, so it’s been a minute. Now he’s back with a sweeping martial arts action thriller that looks massive in scale and packed with ferocious combat.

The story centers on Dao Ma, played by Wu Jing, who is known as the "second most wanted fugitive." He’s hired by his benefactor, the chief of the Mo family clan, for a dangerous escort mission.

His task is to transport the "most wanted fugitive" Di Ting, played by Nicholas Tse, all the way to Chang’an. That’s the kind of setup that guarantees tension, betrayal, and plenty of bone-crunching fights along the way.

The film is based on the popular manhua comic of the same name by Xianzhe Xu. The screenplay comes from Chao-Bin Su and Larry Yang, with Wu Jing and Baimei Yu producing.

The cast includes Yu Shi, Chen Lijun, Sun Yizhou, Ci Sha, Li Yunxiao, Tony Leung Ka-fai, Zhang Jin, Kara Wai, along with Zhang Yi and Jet Li.

But let’s talk about the trailer. It’s on another level compared to the teaser we saw earlier. The scale feels bigger, the stakes higher, and the fight choreography is exactly what you’d hope for from Woo-ping.

There are sweeping desert landscapes, brutal sword duels, and large-scale clashes that look tailor-made for the big screen. It’s gritty, intense, and packed with some seriously badass footage and epic fight scenes galore.

If this movie is playing near you, don’t sleep on it. Martial arts films like this are meant to be experienced with a crowd, with every punch and blade strike echoing through the theater.

Blades of the Guardians is now playing in select US theaters.
