Disney has released a fresh new trailer for Tron: Ares, and it’s setting the stage for one wicked awesome wild ride! This new chapter introduces a “biblically strong,” super-intelligent, unkillable warrior built from AI who is pulled out of the digital realm and unleashed in our world… and he’s on a mission.
The trailer gives us our bestlook yet at Jared Leto as Ares, the sleek and deadly supersoldier. He’s revealed in dramatic fashion by Evan Peters, who looks pretty pleased with himself, while Gillian Anderson brings the skepticism. Oh, and yeah, we get our first look at Jeff Bridges making a return to the grid!
Disney’s official synopsis sets the stage: “Tron: Ares follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.”
The feature film is directed by Joachim Rønning and stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, with Gillian Anderson, and Jeff Bridges.
