Insane Red-Band Trailer for David Cronenberg's Body Horror Film CRIMES OF THE FUTURE
Director David Cronenberg is back with another crazy-ass body horror movie titled Crimes of the Future and we have an insane new red-band trailer for you to watch that is guaranteed to make some people uncomfortably cringe. As you’ll see, there are some crazy-ass visuals and elements that some moviegoers just won’t be able to handle, especially those not familiar with Cronenberg’s earlier work.
The movie comes with an incredible cast that includes Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart, Scott Speedman, and Tanaya Beatty. I’m a fan of Cronenberg’s early film work and it’s awesome to see him getting back to that kind of madness with Crimes of the Future. Call me demented, but I can’t wait to watch this!
The film is set in the not-so-distant future in which humankind is learning to adapt to its synthetic surroundings. “As the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the body undergoes new transformations and mutations. With his partner Caprice (Seydoux), Saul Tenser (Mortensen), a celebrity performance artist in this future, publicly showcases the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde performances. Timlin (Stewart), an investigator from the National Organ Registry, obsessively tracks their movements, which is when a mysterious group is revealed… Their mission – to use Saul's notoriety to shed light on the next phase of human evolution.”
Crimes of the Future is both written and directed by Cronenberg (The Brood, Scanners, Videodrome, The Dead Zone, The Fly, Dead Ringers, Crash, eXistenZ, Spider, A History of Violence, Eastern Promises, Dangerous Method, Cosmopolis, and Maps to the Stars).
The movie will premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and Neon will release it in theaters in June 2022.
