Wild Red-Band Trailer For a Dark Comedy About a Weed Pill Called GRINGO
I've got an interesting red-band trailer here for you to watch for a crazy looking film called Gringo. It's a dark comedy that revolves around a marihuana pill and it has a very impressive cast that includes Joel Edgerton, David Oyelowo, Amanda Seyfried, Sharlto Copley, and Charlize Theron.
I have to say that it's kinda weird to see a bunch of award-winning actors coming together to star in a film like this. Watching Oyelowo attempting to do some wild comedy is so strange because he's such a serious actor!
The movie comes from Nash Edgerton, who is the brother of Joel Edgerton. He's directed a good amount of short films before this such as Bear and Spider, which will give you some good insight into Nash's sick sense of humor.
The movie is being produced by Amazon Studios and STX and this is the synopsis:
An exhilarating mix of dark comedy, white-knuckle action and dramatic intrigue, Gringo joyrides into Mexico, where mild-mannered businessman Harold Soyinka (David Oyelowo) finds himself at the mercy of his back-stabbing business colleagues back home, local drug lords and a morally conflicted black-ops mercenary. Crossing the line from law-abiding citizen to wanted criminal, Harold battles to survive his increasingly dangerous situation in ways that raise the question: Is he out of his depth — or two steps ahead?
The movie also co-stars Yul Vazquez and Thandie Newton and it's set to hit theaters on March 9, 2018.
