Vertical Entertainment has released the trailer for its coming coming of age comedy The Get Together. The film takes place during a wild night at a raging house party. There are four different characters that the story follows, and each of them are going through different life-altering experiences.

This story follows the characters, who are in their mid-twenties, and they intertwine over the course of one raging Friday night house party in Austin, TX. “August, a quirky recent college grad struggling to find her footing in a new town discovers her roommate and only friend has different plans for the future that don’t include her. Damien and Betsy, a cute couple returning to Austin, bump into an old friend of Betsy’s who invites them out to the party upending Damien’s secret plan to propose. Caleb, a directionless musician whose life unravels after letting go of the love of his life suddenly gets a second chance when he runs into her at the party. Each character attempts to navigate the often difficult and hilarious problems that come with growing up in the modern world.”

The film was directed by Will Bakke from a script he wrote with Michael B. Allen. The film stars musician Alejandro Rose Garcia (aka Shakey Graves), Johanna Braddy (Easy A), Comedy Central's Courtney Parchman, GLEE's Jacob Artist, Stephanie Hunt (frontwoman of band Buffalo Hunt), and Ellar Coltrane (Boyhood).

It looks like a good film, the kind of film we might have seen in the ‘90s from director Richard Linklater. It definitely has that Linklater vibe. Check out the trailer below and you’ll see what I mean.

The Get Together will be released On Demand on May 14, 2021.
