Wild Trailer for GLADIATOR UNDERGROUND Teases Brutal Thai Martial Arts Action
Samuel Goldwyn Films released the official trailer for Gladiator Underground, a Thai martial arts action thriller that’s about to deliver some heavy-hitting underground fight spectacle.
This one’s all about high-stakes combat, family drama, and an underworld that thrives on bloodsport. The story follows two estranged brothers, Max and Wu, played by Andy Le and D.Y. Sao, who find themselves thrown into the deadliest underground fighting tournament in the world.
The stakes aren’t just survival — powerful crime lords control who fights who, what weapons are allowed, and place ruthless bets on every match. According to the official synopsis:
“Max and Wu, two estranged brothers, are competing in the world’s most dangerous underground fighting tournament, where powerful crimelords gamble and dictate who they fight and what weapons are used.
“In this high-stakes bloodsport, one wrong move means certain death. The brothers must decide whether to play by the rules – or to cast their honor aside and team up against the syndicate controlling the system, risking everything to bring it down.”
The trailer leans hard into bone-crunching fight choreography, which makes sense since the film boasts talent from the stunt team behind Everything Everywhere All At Once. It even teases the next big thing in martial arts action with the tagline: “Witness the birth of the next generation of combat!”
The cast also includes Craig Ng, Apasiri Kulthanan, Selina Wiesmann, Geoffrey Giuliano, Bear Williams, Elliott Allison, Ron Smoorenburg, Sahajak Boonthanakit, and Byron Bishop.
Gladiator Underground comes from Thai-American filmmaker Chaya Supannarat, who previously directed Bangkok Dog along with several shorts. The screenplay is by Ariel Bleiberg, and the film is produced by Ehud Bleiberg, Ariel Bleiberg, Charlie LaHie, and D.Y. Sao.
Unlike many martial arts action movies that get a festival debut, this one is skipping that route and heading straight to audiences. Goldwyn Films is releasing it on VOD starting October 17, 2025.
If you’re into savage tournament fighters, underground arenas, and martial arts showdowns that feel like Mortal Kombat without the fantasy element, this might be one worth adding to your October watchlist.
