Will Ferrell Will Reprise His ANCHORMAN Role, Ron Burgundy, For a New Podcast

Ron Burgundy is making a comeback! It’s been almost five years since the last time we saw Will Ferrell as Ron in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. There are no signs that an Anchorman 3 is coming anytime soon, but Ferrell is still bringing back his hilarious character for a new podcast to fill the void! After all, we all need a little more Ron Burgundy in our lives.

According to Deadline, iHeartRadio and Funny or Die are teaming up for The Ron Burgundy Podcast. There are already two seasons planned out and each season will consist of 12 episodes.

Farrell made the announcement on Twitter when he amusingly started an argument with CNN’s Don Lemon. Here’s how that exchange played out:

The iHeartPodcast Network President, Conal Byrne, played along with the promotional fun, saying:

“Ron quite literally forced us into making this podcast with him, first calling us more than one hundred times in a single day and then proceeding to actually show up at our doorstep and physically force himself into our studios. We do hope the podcast is well-received, but in the meantime, we hope by agreeing to do the announcement he will stay away.”

Burgundy then responded, saying:

“By the way, if iHeartRadio says that I harassed them into making a podcast, it is a lie!! A boldface lie!! Did I call them one hundred times in one day? Yes! But that’s called persistence! I have filed suit against iHeartRadio for these salacious claims. I will be representing myself legally, since I currently do not have enough money to hire an attorney.”

The Ron Burgundy Podcast is set to premiere in the first part of 2019. Will you be tuning in to listen to this podcast!? I sure will! I think it’s going to be hilarious!
