Will Poulter Recalls GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 3 Mishap Where He Accidentally Punched Dave Bautista in the Face

Will Poulter (We’re the Millers, The Bear, Death of a Unicorn) made his MCU debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, in which he played the character Adam Warlock, a Sovereign created by his mother Ayesha as a living weapon designed to kill the Guardians of the Galaxy.

He was prematurely awakened by High Evolutionary, who tasked him with capturing Rocket, only for Adam's efforts to be thwarted by the Guardians. His story arc continued, and despite his programming, he pulled through and became a good guy, siding with the Guardians and saving Star-Lord’s life.

But the road to making the character come to life was a bumpy one for Poulter, and he explained a little mishap that took place while filming. The actor explained in an interview on The Jonathan Ross Show:

"We’re doing this fight sequence and I grew up watching Dave [Bautista], as a wrestler and then as an actor. I’m a bit nervous. I haven’t done a ton of fight choreography. Anyway, we’re doing this fight scene and I accidentally punched Dave straight in the face."

Poulter, who was painted gold for the role, went on to recount seeing Bautista having to be made up because he had a golden fist imprinted on his eye. "You realize when you do films, you’re so much better off handing over to the stunt people," Poulter added.

I bet he felt pretty bad, but how many people can say they punched Dave Bautista in the face and lived to tell the tale?
