Will Smith and Martin Lawrence Team Up Again in First Trailer for BAD BOYS FOR LIFE

Sony Pictures has dropped the first trailer for Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s Bad Boys For Life, and after watching it, I’m not sure why they made the movie. I was actually looking forward to this, but damn… it looks so uninteresting. The comedy falls flat, and it just doesn’t bring anything new or unique to the table. This is the definition of a cash grab movie.

It’s a shame because I liked these characters, and I liked what Michael Bay did with the first two films, but as you know, Bay did not direct this one. Bad Boys For Life was helmed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who directed a few films that I’ve never seen, and I’m not impressed by what I’m seeing now.

Here’s the synopsis:

Ride together. Die together. Bad Boys For Life. Marcus Burnett (Lawrence) is now a police inspector and Mike Lowrey (Smith) is in a midlife crisis. Both of them unite again when an Albanian mercenary, whose brother they defeated, promises them an important bonus in revenge.

I’m sure that there are some people out there who like what this first trailer shows off, I’m just not one of them. I’ll still see the movie in hopes that it exceeds the expectations that this trailer has set for me.

The movie also stars Thomas Brag, Paola Núñez, Jacob Scipio, Joe Pantoliano, Alexander Ludwig, Charles Melton, Jamie Neumann, Massi Furlan, DJ Khaled, and Vanessa Hudgens.

The movie hits theaters on January 17, 2020.
