Will Smith Making Comeback Plan to Shoot BAD BOYS 4 and Netflix Thriller FAST AND LOOSE Back to Back
It’s been one year since the infamous Oscar’s slap, in which actor Will Smith walked up on stage during the show, and slapped the show’s host, Chris Rock, for a joke he made at the expense of Smith’s wife. The show went on, in a super awkward way, and Smith even went on later in the night to win the award for Best Actor for his performance in King Richard, but even his award was eclipsed by the assault.
Smith has laid low in the last year, but he is looking to get back to work and get back in the good graces of audiences.
In a recent report from Variety, sources say that Smith is looking to reestablish his commercial appeal and is poised to shoot Sony’s Bad Boys 4, and Netflix’s Fast and Loose back to back. His last two films, King Richard and Emancipation were dramas with more of an awards-season aim, and Smith has historically made blockbusters and comedies that has kept him relevant in the box office and appealing to fans.
The last year, studio executives were hesitant to jump back into business with Smith despite being one of the industry’s biggest stars, so this move may help him regain that studio hireability.
Both of these movies have been in the works for a long time, so it’s good to hear that they are finally moving forward. They both seem like they will be a lot of fun. What do you think of Will Smith’s career moving forward?
