Will Wolverine Make an Appearance in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE?

Hugh Jackman's Wolverine has appeared in every single X-Men movie since the franchise started. We've been hearing that he won't be appearing in X-Men: Apocalypse, though, but that could just be something everyone is saying to surprise fans.

During an interview with Empire, director Bryan Singer was asked about Wolverine, and if he had a part to play in the story. This is what he said:

"As a central character, he didn't fit into this particular story."

So he won't play a "central character," but that doesn't mean he won't be in the movie. He didn't have a central role in X-Men: First Class but he still was given a great little cameo. So can we expect to see him appear in a small role? Maybe, and Singer teases where that cameo might happen. He explains:

"The quartet have been kidnapped by army twonk William Stryker following a cataclysmic event at the X-Mansion, and wake up in a holding cell. On a balcony above them, Stryker taunts his prisoners, demanding to know the whereabouts of Magneto."

This facility that Stryker takes the mutants to is Weapon X, which as you all know is the same place that gave Wolverine his famous adamantium skeleton and claws. If you remember in X-Men: Days of Future Past, the 1970s version of Wolverine was pulled out of a lake and taken by Stryker. So if Wolverine does appear in X-Men: Apocalypse, it will most likely be at Weapon X. It seems like it's all set up to happen that way.

On a separate note, Singer told Empire that he isn't going to be leaving the X-Men franchise anytime soon.

"Abandoning the franchise is not something I think about. But I could not roll into another X-Men movie tomorrow. And I hope not to. I hope to take a break."

After he's finished with Apocalypse, he's moving on to direct 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. I'm sure he'll jump right back into another X-men movie after that. When asked if there are villains he'd like to work with, he said:

"love to use Proteus somehow. There's a lot visually you could do with a character like that."

So I guess we can expect to see Proteus in some future installment of the franchise. I do hope to see Wolverine in X-Men: Apocalypse. It would be kind of cool to see what;s going on with him in Weapon X. Would you want to see Wolverine show up, and do you think it will happen?

The movie will be released on May 27th, 2016.
