Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves Call Each Other Husband and Wife Since Their Possible Real Marriage in 1992 Movie DRACULA
Six years ago, Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice, Stranger Things) and Keanu Reeves (Speed, John Wick) were making the rounds promoting their film Destination Wedding. At the time, they revealed that 26 years previously, when they had starred in Francis Ford Coppola’s 1992 gothic horror film, Dracula, the pair had actually, sort of gotten married for real. Ryder said:
"We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life. In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest[...] We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married."
It was a cute back and forth where they reminisced about the experience, and now they have another sweet bit of info about their personal lives for us to enjoy.
During a recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, Ryder revealed she still texts Reeves regularly, and “We always say who it is, even though it says it on the text. So like on his birthday I go: ‘Happy birthday, my husband.’ And then he’s like, ‘Hey, my wife, I love you. KR 57. Like on each birthday he’s like KR 57 or whatever his age is. He’s always done that.”
They are just the cutest. It would be great story if they ended up together. But for now, they’ll always have Dracula. The pair went on to co-star in Destination Wedding, as well as the 2006 film A Scanner Darkly.
