WOLVERINE Game Trailer Unleashes Bloody Mayhem on PS5 and It Looks Badass

After years of anticipation, Marvel’s Wolverine has finally slashed its way into the spotlight with its first gameplay trailer, and it absolutely delivers. Brutal, bloody, and badass, the PS5 exclusive from Insomniac Games gives fans a ferocious new take on James "Logan" Howlett, and it’s pretty badass!

The trailer dropped during the latest PlayStation State of Play and easily stole the show, and watching Wolverine go full berserker is freakin’ awesome.

The trailer dives straight into the chaos, offering a brutal look at Logan's combat style and hinting that players will get to experience the most savage version of the character since the X-Men Origins: Wolverine game surprised everyone back in 2009.

Insomniac, the studio behind the Marvel’s Spider-Man games, is once again flexing its muscles with a slick, violent, and cinematic approach.

We see Logan tearing through enemies with his claws, and the game isn’t holding back on the gore. Locations like Japan, Canada, and Madripoor are featured, and iconic characters such as Omega Red, Mystique, and even a Sentinel make appearances.

Liam McIntyre, best known for Spartacus and The Flash, is bringing Wolverine to life in this new version, and from what we’ve seen, he’s a great fit for the grizzled mutant.

While some fans were hoping for updates on Venom or Spider-Man 3, Insomniac seems fully locked in on delivering Marvel’s Wolverine.. The December 2023 leak gave away a few details, but nothing beats seeing the gameplay in action.

PlayStation also released a behind-the-scenes featurette and official cover art to go along with the trailer, giving us a better idea of how the project has come together.

The game’s official synopsis promises an intense experience: "Become a living weapon. As he searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes – unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination – to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be."

It continues, "From Insomniac Games, the developers of the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise, comes Marvel’s Wolverine, an all-new take on an iconic character based on Marvel Comics. Developed in collaboration with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, Marvel’s Wolverine coming to PlayStation 5 consoles Fall 2026."

It’s wild to think the first teaser for this game dropped all the way back in 2021. After such a long wait, Marvel’s Wolverine looks like it’s going to be well worth it. If Spider-Man was a defining moment for Peter Parker in gaming, this has the potential to be just as big for Logan.
