WONDER WOMAN 1984 and DUNE Release Dates May Be Pushed Back

I have come to loathe sharing news about movies being pushed due to the coronavirus pandemic. But, here we are again as Warner Bros. is reportedly looking to push Wonder Woman 1984 from its current October date to either November or late December. If this really happens, we will likely see Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated sci-fi epic Dune move from this December to 2021.

I would hate for this to be the case! I don’t want to wait any longer to see Dune! After that trailer was released, I just want to watch it now! I’d rather wait for Wonder Woman 1984, they can go ahead and push that to 2021, but keep Dune in its current release date!

The news comes in the wake ofTenet hitting the U.S. prior to the New York and Los Angeles markets opening their theaters. The studio needs to make money in their biggest markets, and theaters in these big city areas aren’t expected to open until October or September.

Tenet has actually been doing pretty well in theaters considering the conditions that it opened up under. So far the movie has made over $152.3 million worldwide. It will make more as theaters continue to open and it will be in theaters for an extended period of time. I still haven’t seen it yet, but I will as soon as I get the chance!

It’s explained that “having Wonder Woman 1984 in Tenet‘s way won’t help its hopeful domestic tail at the box office.” I get it, but at the same time, there are a lot of fans who want to see these movies on the big screen sooner rather than later, like myself!
