WONDER WOMAN 3 Is Not Moving Forward at DC Studios
It looks like James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC movie plans will not include Wonder Woman 3. I assumed that they would be cleaning the slate as they built out the new future of DC Studios, and it’s safe to say that Wonder Woman 3 will not be the only DCEU property under the old regime that won’t be coming back.
This news comes from THR, who also says Patty Jenkins “recently submitted her treatment, co-written with Geoff Johns, and that Gunn and Safran, as well as Warner Bros. Pictures co-chairs and co-CEOs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, broke the news to the filmmaker, telling her the project — as it stood — did not fit in with the new (but still unfolding) plans.”
This is just the beginning of this kind of news that will be coming out of DC Studio, and the biggest shocker is yet to come.
Gunn and Safran went to Aspen, Colorado where they planned out the future of the DC Cinematic Universe, and they recently flew back to Los Angeles. They’ve come down from the mountaintop with a fresh set of blueprints for their plans, and they are expected to meet with David Zaslav, the Warner Bros. Discovery CEO, next week and lay out their plans.
Sources say that these plans are “still a work-in-progress and one that has yet to be approved.” It’s unclear on whether or not Gal Gadot will return as Wonder Woman in any future film, but if I were to bet on it, I’d say that’s not in the plan.
I imagine more news from DC Studios is going to start leaking out, so stay tuned.
