WONDER WOMAN Actress Lynda Carter Joining SUPERGIRL in Potential Season 2
Supergirl is about to meet up with The Flash in a crossover episode, but if it gets renewed for another season, she'll have to contend with Wonder Woman — well, a former Wonder Woman actress, that is.
EW reports that Lynda Carter, the woman who donned the bracelets in the 1970s TV show, will be appearing in the potential second season of Supergirl. Speaking with executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, they managed to learn this little nugget of information:
“We had the perfect role for Lynda Carter,” Berlanti said of the Wonder Woman alum. “We couldn’t work out her schedule. Next year.”
Interjected Kreisberg: “We’re going to do it, we’ll just do it next year,” which prompted Berlanti to reveal her potential role: “All right, she’s the female president of the United States."
Very cool. As long as the show gets renewed, Carter will join the growing line of actors who previously played superheroes who have appeared on Supergirl, including Dean Cain (Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman), Helen Slater (the Supergirl movie), and Laura Vandervoort (who played Supergirl on Smallville).
The Supergirl/Flash crossover episode airs this coming Monday at 8pm Eastern on CBS.
