WONDER WOMAN Villain Ares Will Be Played by David Thewlis, See What the Character Will Look Like
Earlier this year we learned that the main villain in director Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman would be Ares. The article that revealed the villain also discussed his motivation:
“Behind these scientific formulas, there is a deadly gas that could well annihilate humanity. Now, it turns out that this is precisely the goal of Ares, the god of war. He is jealous of humanity, which is a creation of his father, the deceased Zeus (he was killed by Ares when he rebelled against him, with the help of the Amazons)…”
Up until this point, we've had no information on who would be playing Ares or what that character would look like. Now, thanks to Batman-News, we've learned that Ares will be played by David Thewlis, who is best known for playing Professor Lupin in the Harry Potter franchise. It was also said that Ares would be a mix of CGI and practical effects.
We also know what the character will look like thanks to an action figure revealed at the New York Toy Fair, and it's actually kind of a crazy looking and terrifying look! Thanks to ToyArk, you can check out the photos of the action figure below.
