WONDER WOMAN Writer Says Her Goal Is to Do Justice to the Characters + James Gunn Shares Wonder Woman/Supergirl Art

DC Co-President James Gunn has entrusted a good portion of the comic book universe’s upcoming slate to writer Ana Nogueira. She wrote the script for Supergirl, in theatres this week, and she has been tasked with writing DC’s untitled Wonder Woman movie, as well as its live-action Teen Titans film.

She and Gunn must have a shared vision for the future of the DCU, and according to Nogueira, she’s just hoping to do justice to these characters for the fans.

In a recent interview with Screen Brief (via CBM), Nogueira explained, “I try to approach every character I write from a place of what feels most true to me about them… I put on blinders and see what the character means to me before I take them onto the page.

“I know how much these characters mean to everyone, and my goal is always to do justice to these incredible and iconic characters that we all learned to love."

With early reports praising Supergirl, it seems like Nogueira is a reliable steward of these characters. James Gunn is also looking to the future, as he shared some artwork featuring Diana alongside Supergirl on his Instagram stories. Could this mean we will hear an announcement about Wonder Woman soon?

We will just have to wait and see. Check out the art below, and watch Supergirl in theatres this week.
