Wonderful First Teaser Trailer For STAR TREK: PICARD

CBS All Access has released the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated series Star Trek: Picard. The series will focus on a retired Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), who has since started a winery which looks like is called Chateau Picard. There’s also a voiceover of a woman talking about the incredible accomplishments of Picard and then ends up asking the admiral why he left Starfleet.

What we know so far is that the show will be a continuation of Picard’s story set 19-20 years after the events of the The Next Generation finale. According to reports, that ten episode story “will be playing into Picard’s interest in archaeology, and his main mission will revolve around some sort of artifact that’s been discovered.” It’s also been said that Picard will be affected by their destruction due to his close involvement with building a bond between the Romulan Empire and the Federation. Stewart also said that it would “explore new dimensions within [the character].”

Showrunner Hanelle Culpepper will direct the first two episodes of the series and it also stars Alison Pill (The Newsroom), Harry Treadaway (Mr. Mercedes, Penny Dreadful), Isa Briones (American Crime Story: Versace), Santiago Cabrera (Salvation), Evan Evagora and Michelle Hurd (Blindspot).

When previously talking about the series, producer Alex Kurtzman said the series is “an extremely different rhythm than Discovery. Discovery is a bullet. Picard is a very contemplative show. It will find a balance between the speed of Discovery and the nature of what Next Gen was, but I believe it will have its own rhythm. Without revealing too much about it, people have so many questions about Picard and what happened to him, and the idea we get to take time to answer those questions in the wake of the many, many things he’s had to deal with in Next Gen is really exciting. ‘More grounded’ is not the right way to put it, because season 2 of Discovery is also grounded. It will feel more… real-world? If that’s the right way to put it.”
